At Thornhill Academy, we are committed to helping every student achieve their full potential and make successful transitions into further education, training and employment. We aim to equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress to sixth form, college, apprenticeships, university or employment, and ultimately pursue careers that match their interests, talents and ambitions. 

We believe that high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is a key element in raising aspirations and supporting students as they prepare for adult life and make a positive contribution to their communities. Our whole-school approach to careers education is guided by the Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance, ensuring that students receive meaningful and impartial careers support throughout their time at the Academy. 

We maintain a clear and comprehensive CEIAG Policy, which is reviewed annually by the Local Academy Board. We also work closely with a range of employers, colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers and other partner organisations to enhance our careers programme and ensure students have access to up-to-date information about future pathways. 

Our Provider Access Policy Statement sets out the Academy's arrangements for managing access to students by education and training providers wishing to inform them about approved technical education qualifications, apprenticeships and other post-16 opportunities. This policy ensures compliance with our statutory responsibilities under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.
