Thornhill Academy, like most other Sunderland schools, uses the local authority to admit children.

Parents wishing to register their child for admission in September should visit the Local Authority website and register their interest. https://www.sunderland.gov.uk/schools-admissions-secondary

Applications to secondary schools open 11th September and close on 31st October 2025.
