Welcome to the Year 9 Hub

Students in year 9 get to express a preference in the curriculum they'd like to study at GCSE.

The 2026 preferences will work as follows:

1. Children state a preference for history or geography- they must do one of these two subjects

2. Children rank all other subjects that we offer in order of 1 being their highest preference

Courses will run subject to interest. Whilst preferences are taken into consideration, Thornhill retains the right to direct a child's curriculum. Preferences will be collected after the year 9 parental evening on Thursday 5th March.

Parents need to attend that event to support their child in expressing a preference. Parents should sign up on the link via email.
